null General Comment 2/2021 on the current situation of the accessibility of nationality public service radio broadcasts

As a follow-up to the Minority Ombudsman’s General Comment 3/2018, and in view of the discontinuation of digital radio broadcasting in September 2020, she reviewed the current situation of the accessibility of public service nationality radio programmes.

In her general comment, which concluded a comprehensive investigation, the Minority Ombudsman recommended that, in order to achieve accessibility equivalent to that of radio broadcasts for the majority of the population, the management of the public service media should take steps to substantially improve the technical conditions and reception opportunities for public service nationality radio broadcasts on the terrestrial platform, on the basis of a strategy to be developed together with the elected representatives of the nationalities.
